This is a tale of two lakes. Intertwined lakes, in Barry County, Michigan. Where somehow the water has gone away. Upper and Lower Crooked Lakes, both near and dear to me, are suffering from the lowest water levels I've seen in the 35+ years I've been fishing them.

opener should be good...
as far as i know, there should be large quanitites of bass available in many spots around the lake...  they should be biting quite well, probably better than most years since we are so delayed with the cold weather.

Water temp wise I think you'll be okay. I would be more concerned about water clarity. All the rain has muddied the water. Hopefully it will clear this next week. All about how much rain we get. Opening weekend weather looks pretty good on the long range forecast.

Its a muddy cold mess out there. I saw 46 @ the Clinton and 51 in the back of a canal I was fishing for crappie in the past few weekends.

I bet you still enjoyed your time out there! I know I would!
