I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

I just have to comment on this boat. Any of you who has been to the fishing show has had to have passed by it. This thing is insane. The styling is so out there. It blew my mind. I'm up in the air about those tiny windshields. To be honest, I'm not sure if I like the boat or not. It is different from anything I've ever seen. I had to comment. What do you guys think of it?

Addicted to fishing.  All the time, any species, anywhere!!  Especially in West Michigan!!!

I didn't like the consoles, just not my cup of tea. Overall, the boat was ok, but the one I really liked was the 521 floating in the pond. We saw that same boat at the outlet mall in Howell last summer, even my wife said it was the purtiest bass boat she ever saw. She said if we hit the lotto I could buy it, so I've been buying lotto tickets ever since. You never know, I might win!

Peace.
It does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble or hard work. It means to be in the midst of those things and still be calm in your heart.

I liked the Z521 Marcell had over in the Cabella's booth better.  At $64,000 you BETTER like it!  LOL!!

I think I like the design of the Carbon. Can you imagine what bass boats are going to be like 20 years from now?  But, I couldn't see myself buying one. I could take the windshields off of the Skeeter and get the same effect. It is definitely a cool looking boat inside and out.

I liked it enough to find out what they'd give me in trade for my Ranger z20 - not enough value there yet... maybe next year. I loved the looks of it. There were lots of changes to the boat from the standard 520 that I thought were really nice.

Dumb question,But how do they get them in/out of the pool? Maybe set a stand up as they drain it?

Took some buds that are not bass fishermen to the show.  They were amazed you could spend 60,000.00 for a bass boat.  Then I informed them you would need 2 GPS fish finders 5,000.00,  2 power poles 2500.00 so you would be around 70,000.00.  Not bad to fish a 3 hour tourny for 300.00.  The Ranger 621 was 540.00 a month for 15 years.  Just think in 2029 it would be paid off.  The Carbon looked nice.  Be interesting to see how it holds up for the rough water guys.  I will probably be in my 185 forever.

Mike S.

540 a month......drop in the bucket for the average bass fisherman.  Boats are steadily climbing out of reach of the normal person. For $250, 000 you can buy a new truck, a new boat, and a house. Now that is the American dream!

dartag

Move to Kentucky.  You can have a 60,000.00 boat,   45,000.00 truck and park them outside your 5,000.00 double wide trailer.

I did like the carbon fiber panels on the dash and bow big enough for a 10 inch gps/finder.

Mike S.

Funny you say that. It's the same way in Louisiana. We had a new brick home and a 12 foot Bass Tracker. Everyone else had a new truck and boat under the lean-to attached to their trailer that was about to fall over. That was in '95. It was still the same when I went back down there in '11.

BIGSHOW

@ dartag. What 185 do you have? Just wondering. I have a searay 185 fish and ski.

In the 13 catalog that I picked up at the show
they didn't have the std 520, It's was just the 520C

Dan

The new Cabela's will have the Ranger Z520. I was looking at it in there catalog last night. The storage lockers have a blower system in them to circulate air to be sure things dry out. That's a cool feature I haven't heard of before in a boat.

That's a really good idea though... I'll bet it wouldn't be too awful hard to do that in any of our rigs.  Wouldn't take much of a fan either, and if you ran it for a day while it was plugged in at home it wouldn't draw the batteries down at all.  Hmmm.... off to consult the catalog!

The new carbon also is designed without carpet in the rod storage areas to help reduce the moisture. It has racks for 30 rods.

I've seen them do it once but it was a while ago... I can't remember if they used a forklift with padded forks or a crane attachment?? Whichever one it was, they just lift the boat out and set it on a trailer. They might do it differently at the east show verses the west show and I don't recall which one I was at where I watched them do it.

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.
