Looks like I get to work tomorrow so no swap meet for me.  Probably just as well since I just got a new HB 998SI.  That thing is cool.  Only 3 months till I can play with it.

WOW...I have not been on in a week or more, and I almost missed this post

I am looking forward to joining you all again.  Had a great time last year.

Guess I had better head out to the garage and put a pile together.

You can play with it now if you can find a way to hook it up to 12 volts,  Join the HB website so as to get updates. A new one just came out a few days ago. It has to be downloaded to an SD card and uploaded to the unit.

You can buy the cable from Humminbird for about $25-30.   Too expensive for me.

I found a computer hook up for an earlier model humminbird at Gander Mountain.  The power cable is the same.  You can then just hook that up to a 12volt battery.  It can even be a garden tractor battery.   I think I paid about $10 for this entire kit. 

Unfortunately one used to be able to hook  units up to the computer and download directly.  My 898 doesn't do it but I have a friend who can with his.  Funny.  Humminbird says that the unit is not supported, but his works just fine. 

Once you have all of your way points stored on the computer, you can see where they are on google maps. 

Kinda cool.
