Fished what appears to be the last tourney of the year around here on Diamond today. It was put on by St. Joe Valley Bassmasters and they did a fine job. I think there was 28 or so boats, coffee & donuts in the morning and sandwiches & pop at the weigh in....door prizes too. Very nice.
We started on a 24' deep weed bed pretty much right out front from the ramp and caught 2 pretty quick. There were quite a few boats around us and they drew ever closer. One boat looked as though they wanted to press the issue. We worked at 'em into the wind and then drifted back to protect our spot.
Always after a tournament I try to decide what decisions made were right or wrong. In retrospect this was the wrong choice. This cute little cold front today shut things down in a hurry this morning, as we suspected it would and my decision to protect that weed bed kept us from moving on to the next one in time.
We held our ground for 45 minutes or so and by then the short bite was over. We ended up 3rd which would normally make us happy but we consider Diamond to be home field for us.
Next year's coming.....
Look past what they want you to see.

Nice job! I think I know what weedbed you're talking about!!  ;D You might have made a bad decision, but you made better decision than 25 other teams.
