Here's the article:

http://www.mlive.com/outdoors/index.ssf/2012/03/why_michigan_plans_to_kill_tho.html

I've had these things swim right up to the boat and refuse to go away.  I know a guy who had one actually get INTO his boat.  Not sure why it should cost so much to kill them off like they plan... I know a lot of guys that would love to help.
Addicted to fishing.  All the time, any species, anywhere!!  Especially in West Michigan!!!

I would sign up for sure!!!!  Would be a fun day with the 500 Mag!!!

Firefighter Jeff

I'm sure the cost is so they can "eliminate" them in a politically correct way???  Wonder if we can get Canadian Geese on the list.  lolol

Great news! It's about time they started getting treated like an invasive species. I wish they would all disappear though...they don't belong here!

Redbone

The one on Murry lake is a brute.  I always wished a musky would take it under.

yeah, just think if they sold 12,000 swan tags for 5 bucks a piece..... instead its gonna cost us money to hire out guys that would do it for free anyway.

Exactly!!

From the article I know White Lake is one of the lakes they intend to start eradicating the swans on first.  I know where that is!!  Someone loan me a gun?

Oakland county did that a few years back with dear tags in one of the metro parks, yet the very same year Chicago spent thousands on a sharp shooter to do the same thing.  Political correctness at its worst!!!

That would be awesome if they sold tags for Muskegon and White Lake.  I'd buy 100 of them!  Could you imagine pulling up to a large group of them just hanging out on the lake, and opening fire?  Duck hunters can do it.  They should let us do away with all of the annoying birds, swans and seagulls.  The AR15 would be a good tool for that!  One of those would make a really cool mount.
