Telly Twosome for Hook n' Look
« on: June 04, 2011, 01:37:31 AM »

In The Telly Awards announcing the winners of the 32nd Annual Telly Awards earlier this month, the Silver Council recognized Kim Stricker Productions, Inc. with two of it's highest awards, a bronze Telly Award in two different categories. One award presented in the "Nature/Wildlife" category and the other for "Videography/Cinematography".

"Goby Goodness", a 2011 episode received the coveted honor. This extraordinary production included rarely seen underwater interaction between the invasive specie, the "round goby" and the smallmouth bass. Kim discussed the predator/prey relationship gobies share with Lake Ontario smallmouth bass while he and guest, friend and local guide Dean Meckes, mimic the forage with Strike King lures "Go-B-Gone". Shot on location in the crystal clear waters of Eastern Lake Ontario under no less than perfect conditions.

"Danny and I both knew we were capturing something exceptional that day", said Kim Stricker, "Yet it isn't until you get in the editing studio where it all takes shape. With each episode we produce, the general story doesn't actually take direction until after we've explored the aquatic habitat. No doubt, it's that unique aspect of our program which sets us apart and gives "Hook n' Look" it's edifying purpose. Once we've examined the underwater footage, it's then that the informative scripts and content begin to materialize and soon the complete production and educational theme fully develops.

I must say it's a wonderful feeling to receive recognition for our hard work and we offer the Silver Council our gratitude for the awards. We sincerely thank Strike King Lure Company and all our supporting sponsors for providing us the opportunity to showcase our creative efforts. In addition, our appreciation goes out to all the viewers and fans that tune in each week to accompany us on our subsurface escapades".

The Telly Awards honor the very best local, regional, and cable television commercials and programs, as well as the finest video and film productions, and work created for the web.

Since 1978, the mission of the Telly Award's Silver Council's has been to strengthen the visual arts community by inspiring, promoting, and supporting creativity. Last year, the 30th Annual Telly Awards received over 13,000 entries from all 50 states and 5 continents.

What a great show Kim and his son put together! I still have many episodes on my DVR, but my favorite show is the one with Kim and KVD. Two great Michigan guys who know what they are doing!

Michigan is really moving up in the bass fishing universe between having Kim and Danny Stricker, Louie Stout, Mark Zona, KVD, JVD, Ryan Said and all the other industry leaders calling Michigan home! I know one thing fer sure... tons of people want to fish for BIG smallmouth bass here. It is becoming more common to see other big name anglers and TV people roaming around up north and on Lake St. Clair!
