Move went fine. The new server is much faster. Which is good!

I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

Yesterday at the Natural Resources Commission meeting in Lansing, science prevailed thanks to many, many persons who took the time to write in, and especially those who showed up to speak before the Commission on Commissioner Walters’ amendment to close bass fishing on the Inland Waterway and Black Lake from May 1 until the third Saturday in June.

I am heading up to my cabin, which is only a half hour away from burt lake and was wondering if anyone could give me some tips on how to fish it for smallies. I will be going up there on June 27th-July 9th. Also how good is the boat launch, is it paved?

Thanks,
Bass Ninja

There are no smallies in Burt Lake!

JK... cruise the entire East shore edge looking for rock / gravel runs. Check the edges of those runs this time of year. You should see them.

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.

I am going up there next weekend.  Remind me and I'll tell you what I find when I get back.

The primary boat launch is at Burt Lake State Park. It is fine for fishing and bass boats. The only thing is it get rough if you get a strong Northerly wind. No protection. There are expensive marina ramps you can launch at in the Indian River as an alternative. The other ramps I know about are not great.

That later June time should see most spawning done but I expect bass will still move in and out of the rock edges.

Throw tubes and dropshots at anything that looks different than the sand. Any change of color, rock, weed clump, tire, toilet bowl... they'll be one hanging on it or bedding next to it.

You forgot to share that the bigger bass prefer white walls.
