Not sure if this is in the right area of the forum or not but... To anyone fishing Muskegon Lake in the near future, use caution. The lake is littered with debris today. I saw several rotten 2x4s just under the surface and several other boards of different sizes. At wot I almost hit what i would say was a 4x24 about 10 feet long full of lag bolts. I turned around tied up to it and pulled it to the closest ramp, the one behind the Clipper. I don't know if this is because of the recent flooding on the muskegon river or the dredging they are doing on the South shore. Either way it was scary enough to make me fish and idle my way back to my trailer.

Wierd, I was there all day yesterday and didn't see any debris like you describe.  And I ran all over the lake.

Thanks for the heads up though.
Addicted to fishing.  All the time, any species, anywhere!!  Especially in West Michigan!!!

You are absolutely right.  I was out there a couple years ago in the spring in the middle of night and hit a telephone pole floating in the lake.  Lucky my buddies Lund wasn't completely destroyed but it did take some damage.  Please everyone be careful out there.

you are very right about the debris i saw alot on the west end of the lake. Fishermans landing was the worse i seen tho so use caution if launching from Fishermans

fasttrack

As of this afternoon, there was no debris in Fishermans Landing channel, nor anywhere else in the lake that I went. And I went from one end to the other. Maybe wind pushed it somewhere or it sank!

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.
