Move went fine. The new server is much faster. Which is good!

I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

Yesterday at the Natural Resources Commission meeting in Lansing, science prevailed thanks to many, many persons who took the time to write in, and especially those who showed up to speak before the Commission on Commissioner Walters’ amendment to close bass fishing on the Inland Waterway and Black Lake from May 1 until the third Saturday in June.

Turtle Creek in Terre Haute i assume?
i've not fished it but it is mostly clay bank w/ trees/laydowns. Deep riprap by the dam. The north end is muck bottom i'm told. I've only hunted out there

you probably won't find 55* water all over..... go into the guard station and they have a map of the typical water temps so you can see where the warmest water is being discharged from the power plant.

Dan

The Turtle Creek in Traverse City has much warmer water. Suckers work well there although it is always a gamble.

As I understand, the bass fishing has crashed on Turtle Creek. They have been killing every weed in the lake for several years and I have been told that it is now chuck full of stunted channel catfish that are 6-8" long. I do not know this for sure, but I do know that it's reputation is not what it used to be. I would drive an extra 3 hours and head to Old Hickory near Nashville, it has a warm water dishcharge that produces year round. If you want to stay in Indiana you could possibly hit West Boggs, it is absolutely chuck full of 2-4 pound bass and is right now at it's prime. It is not a cooling lake, but I have fished it this time of year and a black/blue jig worked slowly, a silver buddy, or a tube will usually produce a very good day of fishing. If you do go to Turtle Creek let us know how you do and if the rumors are true.
