Me and my dad headed out to Baw Beese Lake Saturday evening to fish in our first tourney together, as well as our first tourney out of the new boat, and our first night tourney.  Made it to the launch around 8pm, launched with no issues, tied up to the break wall and then went and joined the club, Its a small bass club my uncle and cousin both belong to.  Got all registered up and then we all headed for the boats, we decided that we would just head out as we were ready.  We just motored over to the closest shore and started fishing.  Started off tossing wacky rigged Yum Dingers, First cast for both of us and we had a double on, mine was 13 3/4 and my dads was a large rock bass.  Continued to fish down the shore line picking up several more dinks apiece.  Just as it was starting to get dark I picked up one for the box, casting up by some lilly pads, weighed under  1.5lbs, couple casts later I picked up fish number 2, this one just over 1.5lbs.  By now it was dark, so I switched to a large black jitterbug, first cast had one on, again 13 3/4inches, picked up several more on the jitterbug, all coming up just shy of the mark.  Man I could not keep the Rock Bass off the Jitterbug.  I noticed that one of the dinks I caught when it was thrashing at the boat was launching craw fish out of its mouth, so I put on a splittail hula grub and moved out to a flat area, again lots of dinks.  I hooked one big one, but he got off at the boat.  Fish a couple different spots until the sun started coming up, when we headed back over to the shoreline we started on.  Again more dinks....  And again lost another big fish on a scum frog in the lilly pads.  6:50 headed in for the weigh in, as we were tying the boat up noticed my cousin fish out in front of the launch prior to the buzzer, he was able to land his third fish, which ended up giving him the win.  I finished middle of the pack with 2.82lbs for two fish, and my dads was only 1.13lbs.  It was a very long night once the fishing slowed down, but it was fun.  Winning weight was just over 6lbs, with three fish.  I think I would of been up there at the top had I been able to land the two that got away, oh well all part of the game.

This must be a third shifters tourney  ???!  I must be getting old, I would have had to take about a 4 hour nap to get through the whole night!!!
