Got to Pentwater again today with a couple buddies.  Between us we caught around 25-30 fish with most in the 2-3 pound class.  Couple of better ones though.  Biggest one went around 4 lbs.  I also was nearly yanked off the front deck when this 10 lb steelhead absolutely analihated (there you go Marc!) my sweet beaver, proving once and for all that even steelhead like the beaver!!! (inuendo intended).  This fish jumped around 6 times, made 3 runs, and was a blast to catch!!

couldnt resist, could you? i think that one will be with us for a long time! (sorry to everyone who doesnt know the inside joke)

That steelie is beautiful - great colors!

I had a shot at a steelhead in downtown Lansing on a Chigger Craw, but the steelie missed! Like 4 times! No innuendos attempted or intended.

Was on Pentwater again today.  Much slower.  Ed and I only managed 9 smallies.  I did however come up short on the brief fight a steelie gave me.  One drag screaming run and it was off.  And yes.... it hit the beaver too!!

I fished today. Small inland lake. Caught the first 2 bass and got my butt kicked the rest of the morning and early afternoon.

I'm going to try and get out Saturday for my last trip. Dont know where yet, but I will try to stay attached to my boat. LOL. Most of my craziness is over with. Stuff to sell yet from Mom, but everything else is done. Time to get one more relaxing trip in before that white stuff. Already looking forward to the shows this winter. Always good to see everyone and trade stories.

Nice job Mike  !!!!   Steelhead are my second most favorite fish to catch  !!!!  I hope to head north in the morning, but they are calling for overtime on Thanksgiving.  Can't turn down doubletime.  If I work Thursday I'll prolly hit some local water either tomorrow or Friday.

bigmojet

Very nice fish. Saturday will be my last day out as I have to rearrange garage to get at snow plow. Water was only 38 degrees on Sunday so Steelhead might be my only shot. Might have to try a beaver with garlic spray.

Mojo

Incredible - Steel head are the only pound for pound fish that beats a smallie - You are sooo lucky to have a day like that !! Congrats on bringing him to the boat.
Thanks Dan for bringing year round Catch and Release to Michigan
