Move went fine. The new server is much faster. Which is good!

I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

I'm not trying to rush winter. I'm sure some semblance of winter is on the way. That means we are approaching the 2026 Ultimate Sport Show Tour - the three biggest fishing and outdoor sport shows in Michigan!

Yesterday at the Natural Resources Commission meeting in Lansing, science prevailed thanks to many, many persons who took the time to write in, and especially those who showed up to speak before the Commission on Commissioner Walters’ amendment to close bass fishing on the Inland Waterway and Black Lake from May 1 until the third Saturday in June.

Anybody been out there this year? I plan to go there or Lake Ovid on Saturday to take my buddy and his 11 year old boy. Lobdell is more central so I am voting for it. I imagine it is about the same as most inland lakes this time of year for fishing, but is there area to avoid? I am paranoid with a new boat/motor.
Is this area clear to cross on plane? I would like to get them up to speed in a bass boat since they drive race cars, it is a different feeling. Any other tips or spots would be appreciated since I have never been there before.

I am going to get some spincasting rigs for them to use at first, hopefully a memorable day on the water.
Edit: LakeMaster Pro doesn't have this lake, so that's why I have the DNR map up.

That water right now is about 4.5 to 5 ft. in that area.  However if your going to head south from there into the area I call stumps cove, you will want to stay on plane until you reach the cove itself. Idleing through will most likely put you in contact with some stumps. Best  bet is to head straight through those points down to the end of the lake and start in front of the expensive houses on the east shoreline.

I will be on Lobdell all day Friday. Vacation day, bass on beds, 78 degrees what more could I ask for.
Remember you don't quit fishing when you get old, you get old when you quit fishing

I appreciate all the information. I will take it easy since I don't know the lake.

Edit: Just found out that we are going to Lake Ovid (never been there before either) instead since they live closer to there. I will get up to Lobdell soon anyway so thanks for the tips.
