Yesterday at the Natural Resources Commission meeting in Lansing, science prevailed thanks to many, many persons who took the time to write in, and especially those who showed up to speak before the Commission on Commissioner Walters’ amendment to close bass fishing on the Inland Waterway and Black Lake from May 1 until the third Saturday in June.

Just before the October Natural Resources Committee meeting on Thursday, October 9, Commissioner John Walters added an amendment to Fisheries Order 206 – “Bass - Closed bass CIR season from May 1 – Friday before the third Saturday in June for Burt, Mullet, Crooked, Pickerel, and Black Lakes and their connecting waters.”

A reminder guys the last one on one for the season is this Sunday. September 1
7am to 3pm
Grand River
144t St. Ramp
100% payback

Come on out and fish the last one for the year. I want to thank everyone who came out to fish this year. Probably averaged around 12 boats a tournament. I'm going to run these again next year so if you guys have any suggestions or ideas for next year let me know this Sunday.

That's a rap for the 2013 one on one opens. Thanks again for everyone who came out to fish this year for the first year of my one on one's!! We had good turnouts all year.

We had 9 boats today.

1st     Gary         13.11lbs.   $180

2nd    Bob           13.11lbs.  $90

Big bass   Gary    4.10lbs     $90

Make sure you guys check out this same forum next year. I'll have a schedule set up sometime this winter for next years One on Ones. Have a great off season and I'll see you guys next summer. Hope to see some of ya this fall. I'll be running the Grand River fall opens.
