P-line

I know there has been previous threads on this line. But now that more people have been useing it, including myself I was wondering what people thought. I wouldn't mind trying some other types of this brand. I've only tried voltage fluorocarbon.

The 8 lb fluorocarbon is my #1 spinning line.  It's extremely tough but easy to cast.  I use it for all spinning applications from skipping docks to dragging tubes to shakey head fishing.  The only time it has failed me was when it was old and needed to be replaced.  I've also used the 100% Trilene in 8 lb but the P-Line is better IMO.

I use the 15 lb P-Line fluorocarbon for pitching plastics.  It is great as well but not noticeably better than Seaguar or 100% Trilene.

As I have said many times before, I use a lot of the P-Line HALO for many different presentations. It is the line I use for the most applications and have for about 6 seasons now.

I also use P-Line Spectrex IV braid because it has performed better than any other braid I have used in the past and I can often get it on sale in the fall/winter thanks to the marketing of another company. After I used it in Brazil the first time I went in 2010 and had no break offs while other anglers using other brands did, that convinced me I had the right line for my braid fishing future.

I have used the Floroclear for leaders and finesse off and on. It is very soft, sensitive and holds up well. Floroclear casts really, really well. I might use it more but I really like HALO and got enough of that line that I don't use much else for any fluorocarbon presentations.

I don't use mono a lot lately but I have tried CXX and it makes me think of a modern, space age Trilene XT, one of my old mono's. There are some presentations, like topwater, that mono works better for. I could use Floroclear for some of these but I like to think using a line designed to take more abuse will let me use the same line in a wider ranger of potentially abusive presentations like buzzbaits through heavy cover. I haven't tried CX Premium or C21 yet but will give, probably C21, a try this year to compare it to CXX. I always like a line that works for a wider range of presentations.

I'm a big P-line fan.  But, after trying the C21 I would never buy it again.  Love the Florocarbon, love CXX but the C21 did not work well for me.  Seemed to break easily.

For a Coploymer (it's like P-line CX or CXX)
I like McCoy mean green

For a Mono
Being that I troll for Walleye and buy XT is 1000 yd spools
I use the XT for the top water and jerk bait rods

I only use P-Line. Love the stuff. I wasn't too fond of the Voltage. I use a lot of CXX. I love the 100% flouro. The braid is fantastic. I use a lot of different weights.

I love P-line fluorocarbon.  I tried a bunch of others and they do not come close.  I have used P-line from 6# to 20# test and they are all good.  P-line really excels in its abrasion resistance and castability (both spinning and baitcast).    Their braid is good too but I prefer Power Pro or Sufix 832.

I noticed the p-line has a rebate out right now. As for the Halo (p-line). is the mist green the signature seller? Thats the only color I saw it in.

I believe that is the only color for HALO. I've always like green lines. It's the color least threatening to bass according to color studies.

I have been a pline fan for at least 10 years.  I have had good experience from the braid, fluorocarbon and especially the floroclear, cx premium, and cxx.  I really only use braid with a floro leader on my spinning rods but on all my baitcasters I have had real good experiences with the floroclear, cx premium, and last year I used the cxx.  The floroclear and premium are great and very easy to use as they lay great on the reel along with being strong.  The floroclear I think has a bit more fluorocarbon coating making it a bit larger diameter and comes in clear color where the cx comes fluorescent clear which may or may not affect the color in the water.  The cxx is a bit tougher to use on all reels but when it comes to strength and durability, the cxx is really good.  I spool up my 5 year olds disney pole with 6lb. cxx and i am amazed how strong this line is with a few big fish and a few snags that I pulled like hell to break free.

I think the cx overall is better on a baitcaster because it is a bit smaller diameter than floroclear.  All three lines I would suggest highly especially for the price.  The rebate only makes it better.

I haven't given the pline florocarbon a fair try other than leader material.  I have heard great comments about it though.

Guys try the Sunline I think you will like it, not cheap but I like it better than the Segar Invis-X

The P-line fluoro and Halo are very good lines, good all around performers.

CXX is a good mono for baitcasters.  You can drop down a size, since it's actually stronger than the label rating.  But then a majority of lines are now days.

I've been using Vicious Pro Elite fluoro for a couple of years.  Some swear by it, and some swear at it, but it's been working good for me.  The price allows me to buy in bulk, and respool more often.

I think the fluoro market is getting kinda crazy.  There's only a few factories in the world that actually make the stuff.  Plus the prices for "high tech" fluoro is getting unreal.  Throw in all the market hype and lack of any real comparative data like actual break strength, stretch, etc. you really don't know how much we're being taken for a ride.

You never know. You may have 1 manufacture for multiple named lines. Then you have guys argueing which is better..lol
