Move went fine. The new server is much faster. Which is good!

I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

Yesterday at the Natural Resources Commission meeting in Lansing, science prevailed thanks to many, many persons who took the time to write in, and especially those who showed up to speak before the Commission on Commissioner Walters’ amendment to close bass fishing on the Inland Waterway and Black Lake from May 1 until the third Saturday in June.

Too many to list.  Here is a link to the Michigan DNR list of lake maps.

Do you have a boat?  If so, what kind?

Matt, Since you limited to the shore, try under the bridge at Ford Lk. There is a parking area not to far away, and just a short walk. It's my favorite place to catch Walleye, and always pick up a few 1-2lb smallmouth there as well. I use Maribu jigs, or a small jig head and a worm trailor,  just bring a lot, tons of snags down there.

Matt, if you want to get fully addicted to St. Clair, come on out in the spring with me sometime.  Would be glad to have ya along.  For now, try Kent.  It's not that far and is a nice lake to walk around.

Might I sugest getting in touch with the Michigan Federation Nation? There are probably clubs in your area that welcome new members. Most do not require you to have a boat.  Links are available from www.bassmaster.com. Bass clubs are a great place to learn from other people and also have a chance to move on to bigger things. I made the Indiana State team last year and really enjoyed making it to the regional championship at lake La Homma Deau in Minnesota (Although Terry McWilliams beat me out). Still a great experiance and one I hope to be able to do again.
