I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

Anyone have any comment on this line? The guy recommended it when I bought a new reel. I've never tried it and he thought it was the greatest. Anyway I bought some since the year is winding down and if It don't work out I'll get something else.

Waterfoul

It's my favorite line.  I use the florocarbon on my cranking rods and for all my leaders on my finesse rigs.

I have used pretty much only P-Line for about 5 seasons now. I really like the HALO and the Spectrex IV but I've tried about half of their various line types. Like any fishing tool, you want to pick the best tool for the application.

Luckily, P-Line has a big tool box (lots of line types over the whole range) and they know how to make really good fishing line.

They make other fishing tools too! Check out the stuff at www.p-line.com.

I clicked on the advertising link and checked out their products. Hard to navigate alot on my phone, but I get a good idea and get on the computer when i'm home. Also do my ordering from home to. I got the voltage.

Redbone

I prefer using Halo. By far the best line I have used. IMO

BIGSHOW

Thats why I put it out there.I like getting all the opinions. Without this forum or being in a club you would have to try it all yourself. I value all the opinions and envy some of the pros. Just want to get more into the tournaments and get better. Thanks

rustydog

I like Halo but they don't make anymore near as I can tell. Lots of it on E-bay but with shipping it is very expensive.

Waterfoul

I should add that I ran the CXX X-tra strong on my spinnerbait rod this year and it performed flawlessly.

I use that CXX X-tra strong for my anchor rope. The stuff is super tough!

Bigshow,

I use 8Lb Halo for drop shot on a baitcaster, 10lb Floraclear on my spinning, and 20lb Floraclear on my flipping stick and umbrella rig.  Have no problems with line twist, and the line has very low memory.

This is the first time I have heard about this..?? :P

BIGSHOW

I have heard it has low memory. Have you done any good with the umbrella rig? I have a couple but i've only used them a couple times in Traverse City.

VinceR

I use P-Line CXX X-Strong Moss Green on all of my baitcasters (except my flippin' rods). I use 10lb. on everything except the spinnerbait rods. I use 15lb. on those. I use 10lb. CXX Clear on my cranking rods.

I read a mono line shootout where they tested the break strength of all of the leading mono lines. The 10lb. CXX breaks at 19 lbs. Can't be registered for line class records, but my concern is landing fish (not line class records), and it hasn't failed.

I used to use 25lb. CXX on my flippin rods, but switched to 80lb Power Pro for better castability when I fish frogs.

fishstick

P-Line Halo and Spectrex were the only lines I used this year!

I haven't heard of it being discontinued but anything is possible with the newer lines they develop. You can still get filler spools of P-Line HALO through Bass Tackle Depot (link on the right edge of the forum). It is not the cheapest line by price but I use it more than any other line throughout the year each year for just about everything. Tough. Sensitive. Spinning. Casting.

Walmart usually has P-Line HALO too. I have links for Walmart on my shopping section if you want to check it out online. BPS seems to only carry it in bulk online. I have seen it in the stores though recently in Detroit and Chicago.

mikesmiph

I use nothing but P-Line. Like some of the others, I use a lot of Halo. But my go to line is the CXX. And yes, its very hard to break.

BIGSHOW

Ive noticed how many use the halo. Whats is halo? At least what makes it stand out  from the rest

Waterfoul

As I said, I like P-Line.  But I cannot reccomend the new C21 co-polymer line.  Tried a spool of it and it seemed to break easy and had worse memory than other lines I've tried.

Here's what P-line has to say about Halo:

Halo The future of fluorocarbon fishing line is Co-Fluoride which blends various pure fluorocarbon crystals. This gives anglers the best combination of strength, sensitivity, castability and invisibility under water. Halo has a higher specific gravity, giving the line a much faster sink rate. Available in mist green.
