I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

If my wife walks in and sees the pictures of the sexy women on the top of the page, where it says they want older men, I am toast. GLB will be totally off limits. It will be a hookup site, of a different nature, if you know what I mean. I will be beaten and dragged through the house like a dog. Believe me, she's a mean 5 foot 3. Then what will I do?  I won't be able to talk fishing anymore with you guys. I got many questions when she saw the posts about the Torch sand bar. Oh man, its going to be bad when she sees this.

By the way, I'm just kidding. My wife is a sweetheart. Just wanted to mess with Dan a bit. Well, I might get beaten.

I sure hope the women show up for everyone else. If not, my phone might be very sick!

You may not know this but many of those ads are targeted towards you based on the websites you visit and searches you do on the Internet... where else have you been hanging out at on the net?!? :o ;D

I'd prefer they are more targeted towards fishing and the outdoors but it doesn't work that way with this ad source. I can however adjust my settings to try to block certain types of ads from showing up on here.

Seriously, if any of you see an ad that you think is inappropriate, note what it says on the graphic and/or in text - especially a link if one is showing - and send me a PM. I can try to block it if it seems appropriate to do so.

You can also opt out of targeted advertising (advertising tracking cookies) by:
1) blocking cookies from 3rd party sites if you know how to do that in the web browser you use - lots of help there on the Internet if you search for it; or,
2) following the steps in my Privacy Policy under the Cookies section to opt out of targeted tracking. You would still see ads but they would be more likely to relate to the subject matter of the web page content.

I have received 1 complaint recently about the tracking cookies that come from the ads on this website and option 1 or 2 is my advice for anyone who is concerned about that. Option 3 being to not use the Internet since advertising tracking cookies are the norm on the majority of the websites with any real traffic on the Internet. There are ad blockers and popup blockers too that work to varying degrees for the various browsers. I don't have much experience with any of them.

Hmmmmmm.....  I don't search for old ladies. My wife would definitely kill me then!  I just thought it was funny, and figured I would razz you about it a little bit. That's all. Let's chock that one up to lack of anything valid to talk about at the time.

If you want a good laugh, so I hear, you should read the PM I sent to Waterfoul around 11 last night. Seems that a drunk person and auto correct on a cell phone make for some pretty interesting reading.

Really?!?!?  I find that very hard to believe.  But if you say so, then it must be true.      8)

Specifically and exactly what I meant is that no one has ever clicked the "Report to Admin" link in their private messages because of a possible problem, which sends a report ONLY to me. I have had a couple people click the link in their own PM a few times to send me a message or note which is not the purpose of that link. So I ask them to just PM me in the future instead, just like I sometimes have someone send me a note by clicking the "Report to moderator" link in a post which I also ask them not to do communicate to me in general that way since that links sends a notice to me AND ALL the global moderators indicating their may be an issue. Not the way to send me a note about a post or a note in general unless it pertains to an actual potential issue on the forum with a particular post or thread.

I have read the raw data of a few member's privates messages in the past when I have been in discussion with one or two members about a particular issue/topic or another. That has also been thankfully rare. I hope it stays that way. My policy is to keep that private between me and the member(s). People come here to read and share about fishing. The important part is that I don't look at private information I don't have a very good reason to look at and I don't share your (meaning all of you) information with another member or visitor.

The GreatLakesBass.com Privacy Policy pretty much covers what I do and don't do with this website and the information on it. Any questions about specifics or clarification can be sent to me.
