Yesterday at the Natural Resources Commission meeting in Lansing, science prevailed thanks to many, many persons who took the time to write in, and especially those who showed up to speak before the Commission on Commissioner Walters’ amendment to close bass fishing on the Inland Waterway and Black Lake from May 1 until the third Saturday in June.

Just before the October Natural Resources Committee meeting on Thursday, October 9, Commissioner John Walters added an amendment to Fisheries Order 206 – “Bass - Closed bass CIR season from May 1 – Friday before the third Saturday in June for Burt, Mullet, Crooked, Pickerel, and Black Lakes and their connecting waters.”

The first Huron Valley Bass Oakland Division tournament is this Sunday on Pontiac Lake.

Registration and Pre Meeting are 6 am - 6:45 am at KD OUTDOORS on M59/Highland Rd just east of Williams Lk rd.

Guaranteed 1-4th place gets paid

85% payback

$40 memebership fee

$125 tournament fee includes BB

8 teams from each division will qualify for 2 day Championship

Winners automatically Qualify for 2 day Championship

Top points finishers from each division qualify for 2 day Championship

Championship pays back $3000 with $1500 going to first

Championship tournament payouts are guaranteed

last time i fished out of the state launch it was a 6am blast off.  i got there at 515, person to open the launch got there at 745.  havent done it again.  the the $5 a man we saved launching there i could have just worked 2 more hours and made much more than the difference.

so you won't be starting till 8:00 or later.  think i will just go to cass and pre fish.  Pontiac will be a zoo that late in the day.  have fun
