I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

My wife makes me do bad things.

Yesterday, my mother in law takes all 3 of our kids for the night. The wife and I jump in the truck and go get some dinner, then come home and lay in the bed watching some tv. Just as I'm going to go to sleep for work, she says to me, you should call in tomorrow and we could go fishing early in the morning.

Once the idea was in my head, I just couldn't shake it. So, I called work. I didn't lie though. I told them I couldn't make it in today, I had to take care of something. In about 10 minutes, the little lady and I will be headed to White Lake. In this case, my wife is the devil on my shoulder. Man I love her!!!!!!

When I first read your thread title, I thought you were posting on the wrong website!?! ;D

I hope your boss doesn't read this forum?!? But you are a lucky guy otherwise!

I chuckled as I posted that. I knew it would get a rise out of somebody. We have a no fault point system for attendance, so they can't do anything about it. They put that in their hand book.

Now, for the fishing. It was a slow bite. I got 4 nice keepers. They would have gone right around 11 pounds.

On one ride across the lake, I could see something goofy in the water. As we go by, I realize that it was deer. We are in 40 feet of water in the middle of White Lake, and there are 5 deer swimming from north to south. I quickly circle around to get pictures, and they head back to the north. I shut down the big motor and try to get closer on the trolling motor. Needless to say, deer swim faster than the Maxxum can go on high power. So, back to the big motor. Get up close to take pics, and the deer turn around again. Headed south. We snapped a couple of pics and figured I better let them be so they don't get tired and drown.

We almost hit a deer once in the middle of the lake. I swear it got on plane!! ;D

We just thought it was a log until we got close. I don't know why they will pick the widest part of the lake once in a while? The lake we were on has about 50 narrows and points yet this deer was in the very middle of the widest part? I guess they aren't that smart OR they are training for something!?! :D

I worry too about having them get worn out so I try to leave them alone if I don't think someone will run them over. They are pretty strong but I have seen video of them climbing into people's boats a few times and resting on the back deck. I think your herd is the most I've seen someone take a picture of at one time. You do have to wonder 'what are they thinking?'

I escorted a deer most of the way across Muskegon Lake years ago in my Baja.  Found it swimming mid lake headed south.  It was a very busy day so we just kind of "hearded" it south.  Only took it about 15 minutes to cross half the lake!!  They can swim pretty fast!

It is impressive how fast something with stick legs can swim but you have to wonder what they're thinking when they cross the widest parts like that?!?

I once watched a group of deer 'playing' while fall fishing on Secord. They were sliding down a tall dirt point into the lake. Sounded like a bunch of kids at the beach making weird noises and splashing around. After doing that for a while, they trotted back off into the woods.

All I know is if my wife was making me do bad things, I wouldn't be advertising it and if I did slip and mention something about that "bad" thing she made me do, I wouldn't want her to find out about it........and that's all I have to say about that.
