I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

Oh, how I wish I had a normal job......at least during fishing season.

Well, it's that wonderful time we all look forward to. Bass season is officially open. Tournament season is open. Now, I need to find another way to get to work in the morning.

My drive is 23 miles one way. We normally work every Saturday and Sunday. I'm posting this from work on my phone right now. I drive down 31, and then take Apple the rest of the way to work. This morning, I counted 12 bass rigs headed towards Muskegon or White lake. Boy, that just threw a monkey wrench in my whole day. Have been sitting here jealous all day.   Thanks fellas!

I try not to look. Maybe find something real interesting out of the other side of your window - like a bird - until your fishing boat sensory system says it is safe to look straight ahead again...?

I've been on some lakes a few times but I haven't actually fished since the May 12 MadWags tournament. I think I'm doing something wrong...?

That's not bad advice. Only problem is that the cards are stacked against me. I pass 3 Wesco's and a BP station. We all know a certain GLB member who can be seen fueling his BP sponsored Skeeter on any weekend morning. Question is, did I at least make more money for the day?  Guarantee I did way more sweating.

Dan, I suggest you get out fishing. Even if your boat isn't done, you know a ton of people who would take you on any given day. I always tell my wife it is therapy. She never gives me any crap that way. She is way happier than when I used to tell her that beer was therapy. She didn't believe you could get therapy in a case, to go!

djkimmel

I've never believed that either (the case, not the fishing). I'll get out one of these days.

I was about 300 yards from St. Clair Thursday morning, but that is as close as I got that day. I can't really complain about it (much). I spent two days on lakes doing fun outside work and have a respectable sunburn on my face to show for it!

I'll get out. It appears not everyone got to fish all weekend. The rest of you need to do some fishing reports!

Yeah, I have noticed it has been pretty slow on here. That means people were fishing. Let's hear it.

Waterfoul

RDT was on White... 76 boats... I'm sure you saw some of us on our way up there.

Fishing was iffy at best Mike... you didn't miss much (other than that certain BP guy taking my money AGAIN!!)
Addicted to fishing.  All the time, any species, anywhere!!  Especially in West Michigan!!!

Mike S.

It was slow on Muskegon this morning. Had to have a 5# weight to get something to the bottom. My son got to see his first tournament take off. He thought that was just the coolest thing in the world.

Mike, I'm sorry to hear that. Dang that BP guy!!!!!  Wonder if we could get him to change his screen name to LGPOCKETS?

Hey mike at least you dont have to watch the guys fishing in the channel all day wile you work that makes it hard for me to get anything done

djkimmel

Have them hand you a fishing rod when the boss isn't looking?

You think Brett doesn't have at least one rod in his truck?  His boss sent him home one day to get some sleep, and I see him fishing from a dock. Then, we are on our way across the lake, after he moves in to my boat.

See, Brett is trying to not make me jealous.

It sucks!!!...Work from 7 am to 6 pm Mon thru Fri...Blows..Part of having a family and supporting the.Maybe in 10 years it will change...By then i'll be 50

djkimmel

Eat right and get some exercise. 50 can be the new 25 (or 75 some days). Get in some fishing when you can. Life is too short but family is pretty important too.

I can't complain too much about the work load. I'm very greatful to have the job I have these days. Just wish I had some mornings on the water. I wish I was able to work 11or 12 hours a day and have weekends off. In 10 years I will be 42, and the kids will be 22, 20, and 13.  I definitely won't be working 7 days a week then.

fiker

Ya gotta do what ya gotta do.  I was where you are once. When my kids were home and little.  Fishing's great, but being a Dad is way more important.  When I had to choose between the two, it was a no brainer. As much as I love fishing, love the pull of a Bass on the other end of my line, I'd trade a trip or two to be able to walk with my little ones holding my hand.

Your time will come to go fishing again.  But for the time being enjoy what you've got.  It passes by way to quickly.
So much water.  So many lures.  So little time.

Well said Rick...    Got to fish Monday night with my 21 year old son.  His first tourny in 4 years.  He outfished me and we even placed in the money.  Had lots of laughs.
