Move went fine. The new server is much faster. Which is good!

I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

Yesterday at the Natural Resources Commission meeting in Lansing, science prevailed thanks to many, many persons who took the time to write in, and especially those who showed up to speak before the Commission on Commissioner Walters’ amendment to close bass fishing on the Inland Waterway and Black Lake from May 1 until the third Saturday in June.

Got a $25 gift card to cabelas that I don't get to use. (BPS is around the corner). Is there a charity event this year where I can donate it for a cause ? What do ya know ?
Thanks Dan for bringing year round Catch and Release to Michigan

Speaking of Dan. Did you make it back in one piece? how did it go? lets hear about it.

Mojo

Im thinking about maybe the disadvantaged kids fish event, or another event where we need to raise money for charity / raffle ticket prizes etc ? What are some events this year ??

The TBF has a kids event every year. I think they are always looking for donated prizes. Dan can help you out with that.

I will be running a bass tournament again this year (4th year in a row) to benifit the Junior Diabetes Research Foundation.  Haven't settled on a date yet but it will be on Reeds Lake in Grand Rapids.  We do a raffle after the weigh-in and all proceeds from that go directly to the JDRF.  If you would like to donate it we would be honored.  I run this thru my store (I manage the GR West Marine) in conjunction with the fishing managers at the two local Gander Mounatain stores.

You got it Waterfoul ... I'll bring it to the GR show and meet you there........ BUT ........ does that make sense to have someone from the West Side win a Cabelas card ?  ???

Yeah, can you use them online?  If so, no problem.  If not... we're getting a Cabelas over here next summer.  Do their giftcards ever expire?

I think they have one year on them like many others and then start losing value, but don't quote me on that.

I made it back. This trip really whipped me more than the last one. It was a fantastic trip as always. My boat landed the most fish. Could have been even better but I was sloppy, sloppy, sloppy. Too much lunch, I blamed it on most afternoons. Gi said, 'no lunch for you tomorrow' but I didn't listen. The food is so good!

I fished with a 70 year old Texan all week because were were the odd men out. He did reall good throwing jerkbaits and jigs behind my big choppers. I missed the biggest fish of your boat twice before he got it - 19 pounder. But I had 2 similar fish on and lost them. I had 3 more big fish on well over 10 that I lost. It rained every single day including hard a few times. We were fishing into the jungle and sometimes we were up in the jungle quite a ways. The water was much, much higher than last time I was there. Many times, you had to make a perfect cast over and over through a little opening between two trees to get bit and then lean hard to get the fish out of the trees and brush.

You haven't lived until you hook a peacock bass from a little hole in the trees and then try to get it out of the trees!!! More to come.

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.

Well West Marine cards never expire and never decrease in value.   ;D

I'd put a link up for them if (I think I can do that - have to check) I thought people would get them and use them.

I have had several different store cards expire (by the date on the card).  I have never had one loose any money, and no one ever batted an eye.  As long as there is cash on the card it should be valid.

Mojo

I'll check the card for it's value before I bring it up.

Mojo, I'll be at the show every afternoon.  Nemesis, Kustom Kicker Jigs, and the GLB booth.  I'm scheduled Friday in the GLB booth at 4:00.

I really appreciate it!
