Hello all,

Does any know if the 522c igps and the HDS-5 use the same power cord and Tranducer?

I am currently running a 522c igps at the console and am looking at getting a HDS-5 just wondering if I will have to swapout the ducer or power supply cord.

So far the only thing I know I need to swap out is the mount no big deal and I borrowed my buddies HDS-5 and both of my existing plugs fit but I'm still not sure if they will work or get the max capabilities of the HDS-5 unit.

Thanks for any info

The cords will work. If you ordered everything neew in box from Lowrance you would have gotten the same set up as you received with the 522. You just take your old cables and plug into your new unit and you are good to go.

To make the most use of the hds-5 you will need to purchase the structure scan box and transducer for around $500 more.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Fishon.
That is exactly what I was wondering.

I knew both the sonar and power cords from my 522c would fit the HDS-5 and the unit would work I just didn't know if I would be losing any capabillites by not using the ducer and power cord that came with the HDS-5.

I guess I should have just asked if the ducer and the power supply cord are the exact same for the 522c igps and the HDS-5.

Thanks for the reply ...so I guess I will not have to run the new ducer after all cool.

Yes the structure scan would be nice but man its pricey and I'm starting to wish I would have got the HDS-7 because I sure could use that extra screen when Dshotting on erie.

I'm kind of having trouble finding the right settings to be able to see my dshot and the fish coming up..............I have my 522 locked in for this and kind of figured the HDS would be even crisper oh well maybe I just need to mess with it more.

Thanks all
