Move went fine. The new server is much faster. Which is good!

I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

Yesterday at the Natural Resources Commission meeting in Lansing, science prevailed thanks to many, many persons who took the time to write in, and especially those who showed up to speak before the Commission on Commissioner Walters’ amendment to close bass fishing on the Inland Waterway and Black Lake from May 1 until the third Saturday in June.

had the day off so I went to Wolverine lake this morning.  I think it is the only lake in our area with DNR access and no-wake until 11:00 am.   No other trailers at the launch so it was quiet.   Caught a nice keeper on my third cast.  Fished until noon and had 5 that went 14.5 on my scale.  All fish on a jig near shore or under boats.  Did catch quite a few in the pads. They seemed to like it swimming.   At 11:00 the skiers and jetskiis came out so it was like home.

give it a try you will like it.

Lots of pike that eat jigs so take extras.

I like Wolverine for the no-wake rule.  Lots of docks on the lake but I can never seem to get them dock fishing.  I have had more success offshore in the deeper weed edges.  Plenty of gators in the lake for sure.

Middle Straits is in the same area I think and has a no wake until 11am on Sunday.  Went out there with my Belleville tourney partner the last two weekends.  Have caught more keepers out there than I have on Belleville all summer (then again, don't really know Belleville at all).  Nice lake.

dartag

Oops thought I put it in the right place.

Might have to try Middle Straights.  Only about 2 miles from my house.  Do you still launch at Bloomer Park off Richardson road.

bosshawg

yes for the launch at bloomer park. not the greatest thou.

we're to have a club team "fun tournament" at wolverine here in a couple of weeks..
if it feels good - SET THE HOOK!!

I like the lake, dislike the single slot launch.

The concrete at the launch under the water isn't level, so whenever I take my boat off Wolverine it's always listing a little on the trailer.

I've fished Wolverine a few times this year and we caught some nice keepers on the deep weed edges. Seem to catch mostly dinks around the docs.
