Kent Lk. Carp Kill

I read a couple articles and the DNR is pretty sure its a carp virus called Spring Viremia of Carp. Apparently its been found in the Huron river up to to the dam in Milford.

hmmm, so is this a good thing or a bad thing, as far as bass/bass fishing are concerned, maybe chicago needs a few of these fish to spread around

Possibly just the power of suggestion. I drove by Kent today on 96, and could have swore I could smell rotting carp.

do you guys think such a large amount of dead fish could actually hurt the water conditions?  A significant increase in bacteria? 

Hopefully the amount of water in lakes like Kent is large enough to avoid that.  Just wondering what everyone thought?

Carp are hard to kill.  Yep, caught one at a river in town when I was in high school.  It ran about 20 lbs and I wanted a picture of it.  Threw it in the trunk of my car.  Drove it home, photographed and threw it back in the trunk.  Took it to the river and it swam away  !!!  lololol

I can't wait to fish the KLBA tomorrow.  I made up a special bloated carp carcass crankbait  to throw.
