Move went fine. The new server is much faster. Which is good!

I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

Yesterday at the Natural Resources Commission meeting in Lansing, science prevailed thanks to many, many persons who took the time to write in, and especially those who showed up to speak before the Commission on Commissioner Walters’ amendment to close bass fishing on the Inland Waterway and Black Lake from May 1 until the third Saturday in June.

Has anyone been out there lately? whats been going on there? The last few times out ive just struggled to just get fish in the boat... just wondering how others have been doing? talked to a few guys at the launch and they haven't caught much more than a few dinks. Ive been fishing this lake consistently 3-4x a week during the summer for the last 5 years and cannot believe how much its changed. From the numbers of fish we caught then and their size. one night you can catch 20 fish the next 2 fish dont get it...   totally hit or miss. even the boat launches are empty by the time i get off the lake which means that the fishing is bad for others too.

i know that since the waterpark went in a few years ago its totally changed the lake and understand that its a highly pressured lake expecially on weekend and even more so on holiday weekends.

hope i can get something stirring here and get some good feedback from others!!

I haven't been out there yet this year, but I remember last year I always did really well.  There's the weed patch a couple hundred yards off the launch that always held fish really well, especially around 7pm.  If it's down this year, that's news to me.

The fish are post spawn now and that is a difficult time to get any big ones to go. Last Tuesday night tournament everyone brought in a limit and they were all 2.5-3lb largemouth, must were bucks on the beds. Same for the OBM open last weekend. nearly everyone brought in limits of the same size fish and almost all LM, the SM spawn first.

yeah and the water is really stained. i did well pre spawn caught a few 3-4 pounds and one over 5 but really nothing over a couple pounds the past two weeks. no SM all large mouth. yeah i know about the spot right out from the launch and can pick up a few there almost every time.

Was out there yesterday for 2 hours.  Water was clear down to 8 feet.  Lots of big ones shallow chasing spawning blugills.  Got a nice largie on a bullet craw, a nice smallie om a klk gobie, a few small ones on a topwater.  Wish I had a chatterbait or swimjig on me.

Bender

I stopped out there last evening as well. What time were you there McCarter?
I got this smaller one on topwater:

and this big one on a jig:

I couldn't get anything consistent going but I didn't try many fast moving baits. I did see lots of gills up shallow along rocky areas.
