I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

Hey guys,
I'm heading up to Grand lake in Presque Isle next weekend for some smallmouth fishin over the holiday. We've never been there before and I was hoping we could get a few tips as far as where to start our search for the smallies. Not sure if it would be more of a prespawn pattern or a spawn/shallower pattern for the end of May. Does anyone have any water temp readings for that lake or any lakes in that area? Any info is greatly appreciated, you can PM me if you want to. Thanks.

I hope to be on Grand Lake this weekend...My inlaws live on Long..

Bass should be on full spawn this week...The struggle may be seeing them if water clarity is bad or it rains and blows...Bass there spawn like they do in Burt and mullet and spawn fairly deep so they can be hard to see....

Cover lots of water using some type of jerkbait and once you hit some fish stop and work that area..If you find one bed chances are pretty good there are multiple beds in that 100 yard area....The usual lures..Cranks, Soft and hard jerk baits, rattle baits, drop shot, tubes etc...

There are some pigs in Grand....

Alpena Bass Club is having their big open tourney this weekend on Long...Registration is Saturday night at the campground on Long..I have never fished it but I heard it is a well run tourney and is a good time...

Have fun...Keep an eye out for me I should be running around in a Bass Cat..

Thanks for the info. We'll be out there in a deep V smokercraft. We're staying on the north end of the lake, are there any launches on that end? I know there's one on the south end but I'd rather use one that's closer to our place if possible, thanks.

There are 2 launches at the north end of the lake...one is a public one that is just off the road...It is super shallow but you may be able to get your boat off of the trailer...
The other launch is just down the road from the first on at the marina/ party store...I can't remember the name of it....You just follow 23 around then veer off and stay on the north side of the lake...That launch is really steep and I have a hard time getting my bass boat loaded back on the trailer but you may not have any problem with your Aluminum deeper v boat..
A great place to start out is in black bass bay....If you don't find much there just work your way out into different areas...
