Move went fine. The new server is much faster. Which is good!

I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

Yesterday at the Natural Resources Commission meeting in Lansing, science prevailed thanks to many, many persons who took the time to write in, and especially those who showed up to speak before the Commission on Commissioner Walters’ amendment to close bass fishing on the Inland Waterway and Black Lake from May 1 until the third Saturday in June.

My Bass Master magazine subscription is up and I will probably renew but I wanted to find out what other good magazines you guys are reading.

independentMike

Bassmaster is the only magazine I get. Everything else I read online at different sites like this one.

Bass Times paper and Bass West.

they are the ticket for me...

Bass Master. Day on the Lake is my favorite article in a fishing mag. And the fact I still get the monthly reading after my subscription expired over 3 years ago doesn't hurt! ;D

Bassmaster & Bass Times. I've been a life member for a long time now so I never have to worry about renewing and it has already paid for itself. I'm 40 so (good Lord willing) I'll have a lot more 'free' years

I only get BassMaster but I like Bassin Magazine too.  I pick one up when I see on the stand, I don't know why I don't have a subscription.  I used to get In Fisherman but it became the same thing over and over.

In my opinion most or all of the Bass magazines (Bass Times, FLW, Bassmasters) are pretty much the Bass Fishermans version of US Weekly.  They're entertaining with lots of pictures but they don't really offer any sustenance for the anglers seeking to grow their fishing IQ. If you are cool with sifting through a bunch of multi-species articles I recommend In-Fisherman.  The Bass mags are geared toward selling products, selling fisherman/people and selling their tournaments but In-Fisherman is geared towards the fish.  With articles like "Smallmouth Attitude By Latitude", "Deep Drop Smallmouths", "Transition Largemouth", and "Hottest Trends for Bass in 2011" In-Fisherman tries to teach those looking to learn something.  I say get them all - In-Fisherman, Bass Times, Bassmasters, and FLW that way you'll never short of bathroom reading material...................

Because of Tournament requirements I get Bassmaster, Bass Times and FLW outdoors....
I believe I get more up to date and current information on techniques and trends online....

Have any of you checked out Bass Anglers Magazine (previously Bass Anglers Guide)?

California publication, just got it's distribution through Gander Mountian and Bass Pro for the previous issue, so we should start to see it more in Michigan.

kinda pricey ($8), but it is packed with articles.  Some are very basic, but there are some good techique specific articles too.   Interesting to see what those california guys are doing too.

I usually grab what's on the stand if I'm in the mood. I used to subscribe to in-fisherman but I can't stand the fact they can't print monthly issues.12 is not much... let alone the 9 or 10 they issue.

Skulley

I read Bassmaster, Bassin', In-Fisherman, Bass Club Digest, North American Fisherman, Bass Times, Bass West, FLW Outdoors Bass Edition among others I can't think of off the top of my head right now.  I like them all and they all have something in there that usually pertains to Michigan fishing or can be applied to Michigan fishing.  Bass West has provided me with information from the West Coast when it comes to finesse fishing and other California techniques.  I learned to "stitch" from that magazine and it actually helped me perfect that technique.  "Stitching" has been useful for me when the fishing is really tough.  It seems to work when nothing else does.
