I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

Where do you get your Topo maps from?

Brian,

I bought a CD put out by "The Sportsmans Connection" I bought it at Gander Mountain.
It has over 900 lower pennisula lakes on it with topos, DNR fishing taking and stocking data, and best fishing areas according to species.

I spent under $50 bucks for the whole thing and it's a real affordible way of getting a lot of lakes with the basic info on them. The maps are in a .gif format so I am able to locate them on the CD and enlarge them if need be.

You can also print them off from using the software that is provided on the disk.

The only down side, is they are not as detailed as the Hot Spots maps I'm sure everyone else will tell you about.

The Hot Spots maps have greater detail, and you can buy some CD's that will also give you GPS coordinates off of it. It's just up the next rung in price.

I know there are a few other places to get topo info.... Hmmm "topo info" I think I'll start a band and tour with that name.

Any who, there's a couple others out there, I just don't know the name of em.

If you want some copies of mine, I can send you some.

That would be great, just a couple of samples.  I will probably purchase it myself, but a couple examples to give me an idea couldnt hurt!!

Thanks Josh!

Hey another good place to find topo maps of lakes is the MDNR web page. If you type in" topo maps michigan Lakes" it gives you a link to go to on the MDNR web site. They are pretty general but they give you some ideas on depth and structures. I don't know if this will help but thought I would let you know. I bought these books from Gander Moutain a couple years ago and they cover Northwest, NE,SW,SE Michigan.
Your either getting better or worse you never just stay the same

MUCC sells 14" by 17" paper MDNR maps of almost all lakes of significance in Michigan. Call 517-371-1041 or 800-777-6720 to get a booklet of all the maps.

MUCC also sell full size NOAA nautical paper charts of the Great Lakes. Your purchase helps outdoors conservation in Michigan.

Another source of computer maps for many Michigan lakes are products from Lakemaster: http://www.lakemap.com

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.

On our teardropbass.com website there is a hot link for topos. I have ordered a couple of them and they are really nice.
