Yesterday at the Natural Resources Commission meeting in Lansing, science prevailed thanks to many, many persons who took the time to write in, and especially those who showed up to speak before the Commission on Commissioner Walters’ amendment to close bass fishing on the Inland Waterway and Black Lake from May 1 until the third Saturday in June.

The bearing that is more than likely needing the oil is the bearings that is mounted to the spool shaft and under the spool tension cap. You will need to remove the spool to get to the spool bearing ( not difficult) ;D and the other, just unscrew the cap (watch the spring and put it back the way it came out). Remember a little oil is better than a lot.
As far as oil; shimano is good the only problem is the container releases way to much oil in a single drop. Go get a needle oiler (most fly tieing shops have them). The oil I use for cleaning/lube is the Garcia oil. The tube of oil supplied is almost a lifetime of oil for your reel. Another area the watch is the level wind, make sure to keep it lubed. The level wide is subject to water ALL the time and the lube gets washed away. I keep oil in the boat all the time (in a needle oiler). A word of warning, don't use hot sauce oil!!!!! I don't know what they added to the formula but it isn't the same as we used when I was with Zebco/Quantum. the new formula is good out of the bottle but when it starts to get old it gets gooy and turns in to a mess. I won't sell it in the shop.
while I'm rambling, another thing. I know it's a sad time of year since we have to put our gear away for the season. But, take the time to clean and inspect the outside of your reels and rods. It is good to inspect guides of cracks and wear. But get as much grime off, it attracts moisture and parts will rust :'( (like bearings)
We had a few flakes of snow  :((yesterday and now I'm ready for winter to be over ;)

REEL_MAN, I bought a couple Daiwa Zillions this year and they both squeal when casting too. I've lubed them up with a Daiwa needle oiler (from BPS) and it helped a little. Those should have good quality bearing already in them. I've also heard very good things about the Yellow Rocket Oil but I haven't tried it.

Also I have put some of the Boca-Bearings in a Citica and it was like a night and day change. I now use it for casting very little and light crankbaits which are no problem. I also got some ABEC7 bearings from another place and they just don't seem to be quite as good and weren't too much of an improvement over the stock Shimano bearings in the two reels I put them in.

Edit: On topic, I have several of the Curado E7s and no problems with them so far. Maybe the brakes better suit my casting style but I can make longer casts with these than the Zillions.
