Move went fine. The new server is much faster. Which is good!

I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

Yesterday at the Natural Resources Commission meeting in Lansing, science prevailed thanks to many, many persons who took the time to write in, and especially those who showed up to speak before the Commission on Commissioner Walters’ amendment to close bass fishing on the Inland Waterway and Black Lake from May 1 until the third Saturday in June.

Just an observation...

I've been pre-fishing it quite a bit over the last couple months for a tournament tomorrow. I've been out there about 6 times and all I can say is that it's a tough lake to pattern! Don't get me wrong, I've had some stellar days out there. My first day I woulda weighed in about 16-17 lbs...the next time I woulda zeroed. Found them shallow one day and with the feedbag on...couldn't find them there the next time. I've caught a lot of nice fish...more 2 1/2 to 3's than little ones but very inconsistent. Does it fish like a resevoir? Do they adjust or stop the draw at all? Anyway, I realize I shoulda posted this last week but would love to hear others feelings about that lake even if it's too late. Also, if anyone here is fishing the BBLC state classic tomorrow...good luck tomorrow (just not more than me!)

Mike

Just wanted to say I'm not looking for spots, baits, or techniques... just generalizations or insights. I've already comitted to a plan for tomorrow!

I've only fished it 10 or 12 times but I've noticed it seems to change around a lot for me too! I've caught a lot of really nice bass there doing many different things. Even caught 3 pound smallies on slop baits in the pads one day!! That was a riot.

Some of the big catches do come fishing it like a reservoir, but as in any lake, fishing the available cover and green weeds in particular seems to be the easiest way to get on some bass somewhere. The one thing I haven't pulled off on that lake yet is catching anything deep with much luck at all.

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.
