heading up in late august for some fun fishing on Grand and was wondering what kind of "brown" fishing might be avail on Huron in that area, anyone ?

I have'nt fished the area myself but have heard the Thompson Harbor area has excellent smallmouth fishing. It would not be a long run from Presque Isle harbor which is very close to Grand Lake

grand has some ridiculously large fish in it.  my guess is you wont be thinking about huron once you start fishing grand lake.

I have to agree....Grand and Long lake are 2 of my favorite lakes to fish.....You can also hit Fletcher's pond....

I am sure there are some Toads out in Huron also...I have fished Presque Isle harbor some with limited success but I am sure they are out there somewhere...

thanks guys....yep, know all about Grand and Long, been there done that was just curious for a little change of pace while fishing up there.

Grand can be tough this time of year with the heat and all, since I've only been up there in September, should be interesting.

will definitely check out Thompson Harbor.
