This is a tale of two lakes. Intertwined lakes, in Barry County, Michigan. Where somehow the water has gone away. Upper and Lower Crooked Lakes, both near and dear to me, are suffering from the lowest water levels I've seen in the 35+ years I've been fishing them.

I think I'm gonna take my boat out on St Clair after work, get there around 5am.   I could really use some advice as Ive only been there once, and not with my boat.  Don't worry, I'm not trying to steal spots for tourneys.  I have a 15' aluminum boat with a 40 hs. where should I launch, what should I be looking for to find some fish in the American side?  Will it be safe enough with the wind?  also, to make this even more challenging, i have no gps, and my depth finder now believes that all lakes are 843 feet deep.

Thanks,
Frank

I didn't see this in time, but it just so happens the hottest spots in Lake St. Clair are ALL exactly 843 feet deep. You should do great!! ;D

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.

I don't know if I have enough Flouro on my Rod to dropshot 843 ft deep,,,,,,,;D

With your boat and your situation launch at Anchor bay and play around there....It fishes like an inland lake...Just get off the water before the tuna boat wakes get too bad..

If you're just looking to catch some fish.  Head out to the mile roads and fish 7-12 ft. you'll find them somewhere in there.  They might not be huge but you should have some fun and I'd start around 11 mile.
