Got out today for a bit on St. Clair to run the boat for the first time this season.  Was a little sluggish until it burned all the oil out of the cylinders from winterizing it, but after a few minutes it ran like a dream.  Started on the first try.  I love it when a plan comes together.

They have two docks in at Harley Ensign, but none of the ramps are in at the DNR launch at Ballard and Jefferson yet.  Don't waste your time driving over there.  Didn't check Metro Beach.  The water was 52 degrees on the main lake.

I'm ready for the season.  Got your boat in the water yet?

I'm all set also.  Gonna take her out to Portage in the AM.
Can't wait. I forced myself this year to do all the little things I'lm always letting go.
You know, after you're on the water, there's just no time.
So much water.  So many lures.  So little time.

well it happened.....boat out today to belleville lake.  ;D
got out abt 10:30 to 1:30. for some reason dnr/public launch gates all locked up-no entry (docks not in yet either). had to shoot down to sandy's. buisness was booming there today. but boat & all new gizmos ran fine w/no problems. caught some crappie and white bass(???) didn't know the lake had them. scrappy little fish on 6lb test. was fun.
got boat back home to spit & polish. glad to be back on the water again.

HAPPY EASTER TO ALL!!!

I got out.
Full throttle, wind in my hair, wake behind the boat.  Yaaaay!
Boat ran great, but......
My Eagle Classic Ultra sonar is giving me fits again.
It turns on, but the screen is blue/purple.
It was doing it last year too.  Then all of a sudden it'll work fine.
I don't get it. But I'm gonna have to find me a new one I guess.

Took her out of Lake eerie metropark yesterday - what a day.  After the hour plus of waiting for these first time idiots at the ramp, my nine YO and I finally got put in and off.

Idled out to the lake, letting all the excess oil burn out of the motor-
once we put the hammer down, all was good agian in the fishing worlld.

had to circle back for the first blown off hat of the season - glad to get that out of the way.

River was muddy from all the rain, and the walleye fishing was slow.  Did hook up on one fish (note untargeted) on a jig and grub tipped with minnows - guess they can't resist that live bait.

Well I went up to northern Michigan this past weekend and snatched my boat out of storage...finally!

Got a big assist from Savage as well, just needed a fresh set of eyes to look at the boat before I could get her ready to travel.  Amazing the things that you can miss.. :-\'

Anyway, sure felt good to have it pulling back on my truck, it really reminds me how fortunate I am.. 8)

Can't wait to get it in the water!

I got 'Ol' Red' out this weekend.  Cranked up first time, ran like a 99 Merc EFI should.  A little rough until all the old stale gas and oil burned off.

Got my trolling motor back from Wonderland Marine West and it works awesome.  Big Thank You to those guys for getting it done so quickly and then allowing me to keep it up there until i had time to pick it up.  Wasnt planning on being out of town for 5 weekends in a row, but they were very cool about storing it for me.

It was nice to get the boat out and make sure everything is a go for the season.  so far so good!

I got out last Saturday for a few hours and the boat seemed to run a little sluggish but it was great to be out again.? ?;D

The ramp at Ballard and Jefferson needs to be dredged again so who knows when it will be open. I've never seen so much silt built up at the ramp.? ?>:(

Where did you end up launching?  I went out of Harley and they only had 2 docks in.  But at least they had the concrete pretty cleaned off which was great.  Watched them put in the Red channel marker at the end of the Clinton River.  Was kind of cool to see.
