Paper tourny question.

Yeah - I've dropped bass on a few bump boards in the past when I was in too big a hurry and got an instant reaction because the thing was cooking hot. I don't blame the bass, I wouldn't like it either.

If it is out, I try hard to remember to wet it, and put my hand on it before I put a bass on it to see how hot it is.

I have used Please release me on the tongue of the Bass to relax the fish to get him to measure.

I'm going to come up with some kind of float then so if I drop the ruler in the water I don't lose it.  Anyone do this before?

I am worried about some messages I read previously by anglers who think C & R fishing can be done unethically. It is awesome when it is done the right way.

I must say that I am also bothered by some comments I hear. Many anglers seem to think that cheating is easy to do in a Catch and Release tourney .... Those same anglers are fishing team tournaments.... I think it is much easier to cheat in a team tournament then a draw tournament... the way we structure our events I find it nearly impossible for anyone to cheat.

One thing I love about the ABA is we bring out the best anglers around .... we were the trend setters for the paper tournament format that is starting to take hold in Michigan.
