Yesterday at the Natural Resources Commission meeting in Lansing, science prevailed thanks to many, many persons who took the time to write in, and especially those who showed up to speak before the Commission on Commissioner Walters’ amendment to close bass fishing on the Inland Waterway and Black Lake from May 1 until the third Saturday in June.

Well, it's getting pretty colse to the "opener" for catch & release season, and I'm really starting to bounce off the walls here.  Where is the first lake everyone is going to hit?  Mine will be Wixom without a doubt.  The boat is just about ready to go, and I'm riunning out of ecxuses not to get it out on the water.  Maybe a trip south is in the stars.....

Probably Sanford in the next few weeks.  I hear on the bouncing off walls thing.  Let me know if ya got room in the Nitro.  I know of a couple early prespawn cuts that have got some whopper bucketmouths in.  Plus we can see who's the better angler.? ;D

I love prespawners, have had some incredible days on both Sanford and Wixom.  Sugar Springs is also a sure thing early.  30-40 fish trips arent uncommon and there's some real beauts in the mix as well.
I am haunted by waters.

I don't now where to go.

They haven't put the dam in at Portage, Half Moon won't be open, Thompson is still low from winter draw down.

Maybe Whitmore.

No gates, no guards, no hassels.....
But then again... there's always Highland Lake.
So much water.  So many lures.  So little time.

I'm trying not to think about it too much yet, or I won't be able to think about anything else...?!?

Somewhere around that time, probably back for the annual spring Hardy Dam Pond blade bait trip. I have to redeem myself after my poor showing last spring there.

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.
