Went out on Erie today to the Monroe Hot Pond with my neighbor down the street Dave.? Between Dave and I we caught 107 Largemouth, 4 Doggy Fish, and 1 white bass.? The bass were all between 10 inches and 3 pounds and included the 3 pounder pictured below which I caught on an old Storm Wiggle Wart which Storm does not manufacture anymore.? Overall, what a great day.? My hands are sore from lipping so many bass.? We went in Dave's little tracker.? Getting my boat out of storage this week.? See you there next week.? My daughter and I are planning a trip there next Sunday.

Was that 2 stake or 3 stake hot pond. The background looks like 3 stakes but I could be wrong.

I have heard for years about the hot ponds and have never made a trip down there.  Can you only get in there from Erie or is there other accesses.

GT,

Its just north of Bolles Harbor. Thats the best way to get to it unless you want to fish from a couple of wooden "platforms" they have constructed in the back of the hot pond. Great fishing in there but sometimes you'll get a whole bunch of dinks. Have caught 5 pounders in there though. Took my son in there last fall, we caught 47 bass in 2 hours. He still won't stop talking about that day.
