This is a tale of two lakes. Intertwined lakes, in Barry County, Michigan. Where somehow the water has gone away. Upper and Lower Crooked Lakes, both near and dear to me, are suffering from the lowest water levels I've seen in the 35+ years I've been fishing them.

Congratulations to The Bass Federation of Michigan boater representative Derek Cummings for his awesome 5th place finish on Lake Wylie in the TBF National Championship. Cummings, of Eaton Rapids, finished with a 3 day total of 32-7 and qualified for the Northern Division spot in the 2007 Wal-Mart BFL All-American with another shot very soon at over $100,000!

Jon Jezierski of Troy MI finished 31st with 9-14 on the co-angler side representing TBF of Michigan. Congratulations Jon - you'll always have the participation in the first TBF National Championship on your resume!!
