BASSnBALL

Hey guys,
Planning on fishing a small tourney out of the Detroit River in Late June and I am planning on running to St. Clair. I plan on pre-fishing multiple times for it. Wanted to ask some advice on what to look for on St. Clair. Not asking for your best waypoints or anything like that. Just some general areas of the lake and whatever subtleties the fish hold to.
Any help would be great.
Thanks

Buy a copy of "No Secrets on Lake St. Clair" by Wayne Carpenter. He has some good information and spots to get you started.

Since St. Clair is a big flat lake - the fish hang out at the areas that have some structure- weeds, rocks, humps, etc.

Shallow in the spring and pretty much year round but deep (15-25ft) in the summer - at least for the big ones.

Depending where you launch down river you will want to monitor the weather.  If you get any wind from the south directions the river can be dangerous to run. Around Detroit there are seawalls and the river narrows.  They call it " The Miracle Mile "  because if you make it through with out breaking anything it is a miracle.  If you look up the 9 mile tower you can catch fish a couple miles either side of it.

Good luck...

If you are launching at erie metro park, you might want to fish lake erie instead of clair.
So much water.  So many lures.  So little time.
