Move went fine. The new server is much faster. Which is good!

I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

Yesterday at the Natural Resources Commission meeting in Lansing, science prevailed thanks to many, many persons who took the time to write in, and especially those who showed up to speak before the Commission on Commissioner Walters’ amendment to close bass fishing on the Inland Waterway and Black Lake from May 1 until the third Saturday in June.

Last years Fall open had terrible weather forecasted, that didn't help.  Weathermen were just about spot on.  Weather sucked but the fish were biting.  :)

Mona, Muskegon, or White. I'm one of the 3 hour drivers for the spring event and would love to have a close fishing day. I definitely won't go to Macatawa, and it's doubtful that I would drive to Portage. That's almost 2 hours. Weather doesn't matter to me. I'll fish in all of it.

YpsiBass

Just tired of the 5 hour drives to catch 3 fish after spending triple digit dollars on gas.  Would like a higher turn out too.  More centralized location = more boats = more people = more fun?

I feel you Ypsibass, but I hear the west siders too. They'd like a back yard event too. Let me rephrase my question from above - what lake is a bass factory in the fall..... Understanding weather plays a factor and all ?

Am I wrong to state Burt/Mullet or Traverse Bay are the smallmouth heaven in late sept / early oct ? Any better?
Thanks Dan for bringing year round Catch and Release to Michigan

Austin lake, on the Westside in my opinion and a lot of fish will be caught in the fall, I hear the smaller population has taken off since I have fished it last 6 or 7 years ago.

Traverse bay... 3 hours from GR and overnight stay.  Burt/Mullet 4+ hours and overnight stay.  Not interested, sorry.  Most days any lakeshore lake around here will produce fish in the fall.  Every lake has it's off days of course.

I'd keep it within 2 hours of GR (it's centrally located and there are a LOT of GLB members in this area).
Addicted to fishing.  All the time, any species, anywhere!!  Especially in West Michigan!!!

I'd think closer to GR means more bars/restaurants for post-tournament inebriati... er merriment.

It's interesting.  When I go to the Spring DK Open I always spend three days and two nights.  Make a weekend out of it.    ;D

Well my wife hasn't worked in nearly 3 months due to her back surgery so we are just plain unable to spend any money on overnight stays at all this year.  If we had it on Glen Lake I'd be all set... parents have a place there!

Or if we did it on Hamlin... I know a guy.   ;D

Well since that guy is YOU I'd say you can't say you've never been in that situation.  What ever "that" means.   :D
