Baitcasting right or left handed?

Ok guys ive been fishing hard for 2 years but am considering switching from left hand retreive to right. I'm right handed but about 4 years ago i got my hand caught in an engine fan it still functions fine and looks fine but I've lost a lot of feeling in it so after much thought I am thinking maybe I should try a right hand retreive that wayI can feel bites better (due to the rod being in my left hand were my feeling is twice as good) never tried it before do you guys think this would be a bad idea?

I switch back and forth between left and Right hand........and if I can do it anyone can... ....

I switch back and forth too based on need of whatever technique I'm using and fishing location. It just takes awhile to get used to it.

If you think you can develop the feel and coordination it sounds like a good move for you. Depending upon where and how you fish it might be better mechanically too.

Some of the pro's developed the ability to flip left-handed specifically so they could avoid moving the rod from one hand to the other. Why? Because you often get bit instantly and that time swapping hands can mean the difference between the bass in the boat and a missed opportunity. One of the reasons I use left-handed reels for some techniques so I'm instantly connected to whatever happens when my lure hits the water. I save time too.
