Anyone care to venture a guess as to when the lake will be open and when the those beeeeeutiful smallmouth will get active?  I'am thinking ice off around August but I might be off  a little...lol
Happiness? A good cigar, a good meal, and a good woman - or a bad woman; it depends on how much happiness you can handle.

djkimmel

You're off a little. Smallies are probably active right now. But you can't get to them very easy, and the season is CLOSED in Michigan... a foreign concept to most other states that I would like to make a foreign concept in Michigan very soon. We can't very well lead the nation if we're decades behind in how we 'manage' some of our fisheries.

Hang in there. We'll have some kind of spring. Probably a hot summer to make up for things.

It can't get here soon enough and it certainly won't be too soon either.  :o

Well the Lake Norman Mafia is headed up to LSC May 17 for a week or two with the intent on jerking some brown fish lips :D Been coming up NORTH for right many years for the annual LSC fishing. Hope we not going to be too early this year.

djkimmel

I hope so too. Might be more early prespawn this year but bass want to do their thing and they can speed up the process when necessary.

Well we will give it a good try. Love LSC and the brown fish action. If we early just have to come back later in the season. ;D Man what a lake.
