Move went fine. The new server is much faster. Which is good!

I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

Yesterday at the Natural Resources Commission meeting in Lansing, science prevailed thanks to many, many persons who took the time to write in, and especially those who showed up to speak before the Commission on Commissioner Walters’ amendment to close bass fishing on the Inland Waterway and Black Lake from May 1 until the third Saturday in June.

Time to put fish habitat on ice. Old Christmas trees and many times you can get your conservation department to assist or do it.

just rember. It is illegal to do this. They call it " littering". Kinda silly since it is natural matter, but I can see the downside to it.   I have done this for years on my lake, which is pretty much devoid of any kinda weeds.  I use them for windbreaks sometimes and <snapps fingers> just can't get on the ice quick enuff  to get them off before the ice becomes unsafe to walk on.

We use them to mark spearing holes when we move our shacks. DNR asked one time why we did that and we told him it was better than having a child fall thru the hole when playing on the lake and we haven't had a problem with anyone saying anything since.

I've stepped in a few holes over the years. They should be marked. I can ask Lansing what the latest is on this topic one of these days.

Been finding that 'official' answer from Lansing still doesn't guaranty 100% what will happen in every situation locally. It would be nice to improve that.

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.
