I had a work meeting on the eastside of the state today, so I decided to take the boat and fish after work. Being only my 3 rd time out on LSC, I really have no clue where to go, so I went to Anchor Bay again. First I fished some waypoints in the middle where I had got into fish before....nada. So then I went to a buoy in between the north and south channel that produced in the past as well.....again nothing... So then I went to the north channel and was going to run up there until I realized that it was no wake in the channel, and I didn't feel like taking the time to putz up that channel, so I just fished the sea walls near the mouth of the channel, and managed a pike. So then I decided to run further north in anchor bay, and got to 9 FOW and just drifted with the wind, and finally hooked up with a 3.8 pound smallie, I was thinking things were going to turn around.....but 2 hours later and not another fish! So then I headed to a new area north of the metro park launch. It was about 7-8 feet deep here with some good weeds on the bottom, my 3rd or 4th cast with a jerk bait and I got a keeper largemouth, and then another 2 largemouths before it got dark...the biggest being 2.5 pounds, overall it wasn't that the fishing was bad...the fish I caught inhaled my baits, the problem was I couldn't find the fish to fish to!

Fall is definitely about location and I think this year location is a little different than normal too. As long as you keep learning from each trip. The bass are out there. I hope I can get over the sometime this month to look for them. Thanks for sharing your fishing report!

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.
