This is a tale of two lakes. Intertwined lakes, in Barry County, Michigan. Where somehow the water has gone away. Upper and Lower Crooked Lakes, both near and dear to me, are suffering from the lowest water levels I've seen in the 35+ years I've been fishing them.

The WaveSpin Reel fishing picture contest 2013 #2 is on GreatLakesBass.com now!! This Wavespin Reel Picture Contest 2013 #2 starts today Sunday, 6/16/2013 and runs for 6 weeks until 11:59PM Friday July 26, 2013. As soon as contest #2 is over, we'll start a new contest 3 for the next 6 weeks.

This is your chance to show off your pictures and win a brand new WaveSpin Reel of your choice from any on their website.

How to Enter
Upload a picture to the GreatLakesBass.com Image Gallery through July 26, 2013. You can upload to a generic category or to your personal MyGallery member picture gallery.1

After you upload your new picture to the Image Gallery, copy the 'BB Medium Image Code' for that picture and come back here to paste the code into a post below within this contest thread stating that you are entering that picture into this WaveSpin Reel Contest 2013 #2. Don't start a new thread! Paste it into this post thread. Asking your fellow GreatLakesBass.com members to click on, view and rate your picture is a good idea too!

How to Win
The winner will be chosen for the picture entered in this thread that gets the most and highest average ratings in the picture gallery with most number of views being the tiebreaker. The 'BB Medium Image Code' will display your picture here and allow members to click the picture and go right to the image gallery location where they can look at, comment on and rate your picture. You will probably want to add to your post here some information about your picture and why members would want to go rate it to try to get as many ratings as you can. Past winners have been social persons who even ask their friends to sign up on GreatLakesBass.com and rate their picture! (hint)

Additional Information

  • Any member can rate a picture whether they are personally eligible to upload their own pictures or not.
  • You can only rate any one picture one time.
  • You cannot rate your own picture.
  • You can also use other methods to ask members to visit your picture on the image gallery and rate it such as getting other people to join GreatLakesBass.com and have them go to your picture and rate it, including using your social contacts on sites like Facebook, Twitter and others.

Please don't PM a bunch of members unsolicited to ask them but you can contact your friends on the forum and ask them to rate your picture. Send them to this thread and ask them to click on your picture to rate it. You can also share your picture through Facebook, Twitter and other online social links through the AddThis buttons below each picture in the Image Gallery! Ties not decided by the criteria above will be decided by the person who entered their picture in this contest thread first.

You can enter more than one picture. The earlier you enter, the higher you are in this thread and the more time you have to get ratings.

Members, please check out this thread. Click on and rate pictures that you like. Your ratings are confidential.

The winner will visit the WaveSpin Reel website and tell me which reel they want. WaveSpin will ship the brand new FREE fishing reel to the winner! Simple and easy as that! Enter away and WIN! Good luck!!

1 Not all members are automatically eligible to use the GreatLakesBass.com Image Gallery though there are numerous options for any member to become eligible quickly and easily. See the eligibility qualifications and related information on the General Questions support forum.

This is an example of the 'BB Medium Image Code' (the winning picture "First Smallie of 2013 comes at Madwags Memorial Tourney" from the 2013 contest #1) that will show your picture and allow people to click on it, view it and rate it (members only).

I'd like to enter my daughter Ellie's picture in the contest.  She is doing her Jimmy Houston impersonation.  Please vote for her pic so she can get a new reel!

djkimmel

I'm always glad to let other people do that impersonation (they taste fishy... ;D)

I caught this pig up on Lancaster lake, by Cheboygan, Mi. I was flipping a beaver bait into Lilly pads.

Thanks Dan.  Praise God, the surgery went well.  I am sore, but healthy.  My new aortic valve appears to be working well.  Now it is just a matter of time until my sternum is healed well enough to return to normal life.

djkimmel

That's good to hear! You had some people worried. Thanks for the update and keep up the good recovery.
