Despite mother nature trying to dampen our spirits in addition to our rain gear a good time was had by all.  The fact that the fish cooperated helped a lot!

We had 5 boats.  Firefighter Jeff fished alone, Slipkey (John) fished alone, Doug Gray fished with his wife Leigh Ann, Spinninbug fished with her husband Terry, and I fished with my buddy Ron.

All teams had a limit with Spinninbug and Terry topping us all with a nice 20 lb 2 oz bag topped by both a 5+ pound largemouth and a 5+ pound smallie!  Ron and I were second with 18 lbs 2 oz with a nice 5 lb smallie that Rod caught, Jeff was 3rd with nearly 17 lbs, and I believe John was 4th with the Gray's coming in 5th with a limit of all smallies.

The fish catching was constant thru most of the day for all the teams.  I'd say Ron and I caught about 50 smallies total (with a couple of BIG drum and a few largemouth mixed in there too).

I do not have any photos, but I think Jeff has some and I know Spinninbug does.  Maybe they can post them here????

Again, thanks to all who braved the elements to come and fish with us!

I regret missing it, but I really needed to work that weekend. There's always the spring Madwags to redeem myself. Even though I wasn't there, I would like to thank you for filling in for Dan and allowing the event to go on.

Firefighter Jeff

The weather left a lot to be desired but the fishing and getting together with everyone didn't.  Thanks for following through with this Mike.

That all sound great (maybe not the rain part)! I'm glad you got out. Plus, I always love to hear someone whacking the bifecta in any tournament - a 5 pound smallmouth AND a 5 pound largemouth!! Great job! Those are some impressive weights, especially considering the weather. Thank you for pulling something off, and thanks Waterfoul for filling in a tournament director!

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.

And thanks to Doug and Leigh Ann Gray for bringing some rodgloves to give away!

Heading back up north this weekend for 4 days.  Duck/Green Hawg Hunt on Saturday and Sunday, then a couple of lakes to be named later on Monday and Tuesday.  I'm calling it my bachelor party!
