I'm disappointed to see now that House Natural Resources and Tourism Committee Chair Representative David Martin has added those very bad commercial fishing bills HB 5801 and 5802 to an upcoming committee hearing on Wednesday, May 20, 2026 at noon.

This is a tale of two lakes. Intertwined lakes, in Barry County, Michigan. Where somehow the water has gone away. Upper and Lower Crooked Lakes, both near and dear to me, are suffering from the lowest water levels I've seen in the 35+ years I've been fishing them.

Well tournament started a few hours ago here.  Weather is beautiful but may to nice.  After talking to Don yesterday it seemed to me he needs a little wind and some overcast sky would probably help but just not that way here today.  Kendall had some bites in practice but never set the hook so only the weigh in today will tell.

I will try to get some more info through out the day.
