Yesterday at the Natural Resources Commission meeting in Lansing, science prevailed thanks to many, many persons who took the time to write in, and especially those who showed up to speak before the Commission on Commissioner Walters’ amendment to close bass fishing on the Inland Waterway and Black Lake from May 1 until the third Saturday in June.

Not an import, and not true.  More money from that Titan stays in the USA than from any Dodge built in Mexico. And they are all built in Mexico.

Wanna bet $20 on this statement ?????

Isn't Chrysler an Italian Company now? ;)

Don't get hung up on where the company profit is spent. That is the smallest portion of the dollars produced. All car companies are pretty much world companies now. Look for percentage of US made parts and point of assembly.

Another aspect may be your political affiliation. As the Unions continue to dump their members dues behind more and more liberal candidates ....., I prefer to spend my money where it does not get contributed against my vote. :(

Just so everyone is smarter after reading this: Chrysler is currently 65% owned by Americans - the UAW.  25% by Fiat (great owners as demonstrated in the last 12 months - also owns Masseratti and affiliated with Ferrari), and now just 10% owned by the US Government. The loan by uncle sam is currently mortgaged at 21% (Sergio is trying to get a more favorable 6%, but guess what government is stonewalling the proceedings), so when the loan is paid back (3 yrs ahead of schedule), the US tax payers will still get approx $4 billion in interest.

I appreciate a person who votes with their dollars, we all do in one way or another, so Wags standing firm on his plank is rightful.

My take on the Import vs US Made:
When you buy a car that rolled off a local assembly line, you support 5000 - 10,000 people who work in the neighborhoods all around you, be it GM, Ford or Chrysler. You buy a Toyota - you support a local town in texas, BMW - a local town in South Carolina and so on ....... what hurts america is that all car companies practice "karitsu" meaning (for example - Nissan's their tier 1, 2 and 3 suppliers are all back in Japan, and you are supporting those towns). Cities like Warren, Sterling hts, madison hts, livonia, pontiac, all had 100,000s of jobs as tier 1, 2 and 3 companies building small parts for the factories here because of low, low shipping costs. When those factories left (due to bloated labor practices, UAW inefficiencies and poor management decisions and poor product), so did those tooling and suppliers jobs. So if the product built locally is good, buy it. If it is poor, use your dollars to vote until they give you a good product (Why cant you Michigan ppl use this same philosophy on Ford field !! Quit supporting a bad product !! Except the team is going be ok this year   :o)

All three of the "global" car companies who have their home headquarters here in Michigan are all pumping out great product, so go check em out.

I like Ford trucks.  If I had the money I'd get a ferrari though, but I hear it's really expensive to get a trailer hitch put on one.  I'm not sure if they have four wheel drive either.

For those interested, you can get information on percent of US parts and origin of assembly here.
This is a moving % from year to year as well.

The UAW released a list of vehicles made by UAW workers for those that want to know.

Also lots of interesting blogging and such on the topic.

Original song and lyrics by "MadWags"

What's with the news these days on the TV and the radio. Can't find the truth amongst the lies. Some talking head that claims to live their life in a better way, says I have to compromise. But now there's something on the rise. Truth has opened up my eyes. There's no running from your dirty lies. You can't avoid the truth. I'll no longer close my eyes.

I cant believe it... it was the last day I saw him. Came down stairs and Wags called me to grab a controller cause he wanted to play some slot cars. So we did. Half hour later we agreed he won cause he smoked me no matter what car I put on the track so we went back to painting. But we played and goofed like we usually did. Like two kids goofin. So what that my final painted crankbait got him laughin, and they named it, rightfully so, gizzard perch.

But I'm convinced it will catch fish. The new color will be called Wagon Summer .........................

David did come back to the house for two reasons (1) to qoute me on a bunch of contractor work type stuff i need done, and (2) to pick up his sunglasses. we had a two hearted and bs'ed about fishing and the daytona 500 that was on tv later that day we finished our beers and he left for home in time to see the start of the race. I was ready to call him yesterday for an update on the quote, but i shed a tear instead....

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.
