I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

I know you guys have posted about this a ton. And I thought I would add what I use on my 2 997 humminbird. I use monster screen cleaner that is used for lcd and plasma tvs. Been using for a couple years and had great results. No water spots. And comes with a soft cloth. You can pick it up at best buy. Hope this helps.

I experimented quite a bit last summer with both my boat, and my screens.  The best thing I came up with was a mild white vinegar/water solution that I mixed myself.  I put it in a spray bottle I bought just for this.

I use it to keep the boat clean after every outing, and the screens as needed.

For the screens, if they are really bad, I spray on the solution and let it sit a little while before I wipe it off.

So much water.  So many lures.  So little time.

I saw Fiker's mixture made and recommended on Bass Pros t.v. the other day too.

I myself use a product from Ray Marine designed just for cleaning screens.  Carry it in my store so it's readily available to me.  Works pretty good too.  One reason I don't like using vinigar is that it will eventually take the wax off anything you put it on.  It's o.k. on screens and such though.
Addicted to fishing.  All the time, any species, anywhere!!  Especially in West Michigan!!!

Rick has the right mixture to use.  Guess the water spots are calicum deposits and the acid in the vinegar cuts it.      If you own a Merc it takes the waterspots off the cowl.   Also makes your boat and truck smell like a dill pickle.

This stuff is suppose to work very well too.

You are correct about it not being great on wax.  I bought some paste wax that was recommended by the guys in the Wonderland service dept.  Put it on and the boat looked great.

I started using the vinegar solution.  Then  one day I read that it didn't do well with vinegar somewhere.  But you know, the boat still looked great all summer.

So I don't know.

KVD line and lure conditioner. seriously works great

Windex® Multi-Surface w/Vinegar works great on my 998.  You can find it at any grocery store and it's reasonably priced.  I read about on a Humminbird only forum.

P.S.  I hate WINTER!

I've been using a mild vinegar solution (1 part vinegar : 10 parts water) to clean mirrors, glass and even the boat hull for years...ever since I was a kid.  My mom used it.  The mild acetic acid really cuts water spots with minimal effort.  Use a soft cloth on the gelcoat...so no scratches.  and No streaks!   Works awesome on the glass screens as well.

I've been using a liquid spray on wax on the gelcoat after wiping with the vinegar solution and my sparkly 1994 original gelcoat looks ... well very sparkly!  I think I like the Turtlewax brand better than the ArmorAll.

Redbone

A little spit and a shirt sleeve is a temporary solution that I use frequently.  Not a long term solution but seems to be readily available.

This method is most effective if you have had a night with Evan Williams

At that point, are you sure you're spitting on your graph, or could you possibly be inside cleaning the old HD TV?

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.
