Move went fine. The new server is much faster. Which is good!

I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

I'm not trying to rush winter. I'm sure some semblance of winter is on the way. That means we are approaching the 2026 Ultimate Sport Show Tour - the three biggest fishing and outdoor sport shows in Michigan!

Yesterday at the Natural Resources Commission meeting in Lansing, science prevailed thanks to many, many persons who took the time to write in, and especially those who showed up to speak before the Commission on Commissioner Walters’ amendment to close bass fishing on the Inland Waterway and Black Lake from May 1 until the third Saturday in June.

Does anyone know if Wayne will have the maps at the show?

Skulley

You can probably count on that.  He may even have some new ones this year.  I wonder what new colors in the tubes he will have for 2011 too.  Haven't seen anything mentioned on his website.  Usually he has had a preview right here on this forum.  It's been awful quiet.  Stay tuned because announcements on this board have come closer to showtime.

I haven't spoken to Wayne in a while but; he has had all of his maps in the booth at the Novi show for a few years now.  I think it was two years ago that he added 3 more to the collection.

I highly recommend them to anyone that doesn't know Clair.  She's a big lake and because of that can be intimidating.  Wayne's maps break it down into smaller sections.  The notes on the back give advice as to time of year, and even wind direction when choosing fishing locations.   I very often carry the maps on board with me.  I have all of the locations plugged into my GPS, but the notes on the back help too.

To the weekend angler the price of the maps may sound high.  Truth be told, one can save the price of the maps in gas money not spent in just a time or two on the water.

I can honestly say that there have been times, when I couldn't figure out where to go.  I picked up my maps, plugged the coordinates into my hand held GPS & took off.  Those locations have saved day a couple of times.
So much water.  So many lures.  So little time.

I don't know where you launch from when you come, but.....

If you are close enough, don't disregard the lower Detroit River.  At certain times of the year this is also a very good fishery.

On days when the weather won't let you safely fish Erie, you might be able to tuck away in a spot or two on the river.

Fish there alot. Along with brest bay and bolles. Used to fish all ohio water then moved to michigan side and slowly moving my way up to st. clair more thyan 5 or 6 time a year. Love new water and the challange it brings. But just cant get enough of big water. Used to fish tournaments quite abit 12-15 years ago but to many twerps where I fished, so just decided to fish for fun. Way better. My 10 year old daughter loves going with dad. Doesnt get any better than that.
