Move went fine. The new server is much faster. Which is good!

I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

I asked what to do for this problem a while back and still didn't get it fixed. Ready to send back if I can't get to the problem. So I will try one more time. At 0-4 feet of water the unit will jump all around and then rest at 0.7 feet  until i get to depths of 5 feet or so, then it will read correctly. Now sometimes it will read correctly but more times then not it jumps down to that 0.7 depth. Now what is weird is that on the graph it will still have the solid line at the correct depth but it will just be telling me the wrong depth? Any help would be appreciated.
Your either getting better or worse you never just stay the same

Are you in Weedy conditions when it happens or does it happen even when over a rocky/sandy bottom???

Erie660

I know they addressed the shallow water problem on some units with a software update so maybe you should check on that. You can go on their website and check your model if you haven't already done so.

kgr624

Bottom doesn't doesn't matter bc it happens so much that it could be a muck bottom or a White lake weed flat. I will check on the update. I had my updated last year at the Bassmasters Classic by a rep there. I will check on the update. I will let you know. Thanks

Ken

ha ha ha  ;D um seems that there were some updates in june that had to do with shallow water interference. will have to wait till Pickwick lake in april to see if it actually worked. thanks a lot for the help and I check forum and found some old post that said the same things so I did the update and now cross my fingers. Marc I will be sure to keep your 100 dollar bid in mind. I hope you can catch it before it hits the water once I throw it in the lake for not working. Had more than enough trouble with it.

LMAO Marc,   Good one ......................     would you take $150  Kgr  ??????   :D

Mike S.

It has to be an update issue.  I just bought mine last month, and I didn't have any issues once I got my transducer in the right spot.

I'll just find it in the water with my 997 set on fine-tune mode  ;D

I hope it works better for ya - I've been very happy with my unit this past season. Except I spend too much time playing with all the bells/whistles! Best regards...
